The new Spaceport located near Las Cruces, New Mexico is the first New-Age Commercial Space Launch Facility. The maiden launch christening the new spaceport will be March 17th utilizing the MLE launcher with UP Aerospace’s SpaceLoft rocket. Dignitaries who will be in attendance include Richard Branson of the Virgin Galactic space travel company. MLE Engineers worked closely with Up Aerospace developing the launcher which will accurately guide the rocket into space. Key requirements included a very stiff boom structure along with very precise hydraulic control to accurately position the boom based on wind speed and weather conditions. Computer models were shared among Engineers applying various load conditions from the launch dynamics. The ability for Engineers at Up Aerospace to log into our computer system, review and modify models "real time", as if they were onsite significantly reduced the development time. This exemplifies the business model that MLE has developed, “The ability to quickly design and produce custom and unique lift equipment....better and faster than anyone else”.
